Christopher Farley Scholarship Application

The Christopher Farley Scholarship Award is presented to a junior for creativity and positive use of humor, based on application and audition. This merit-based scholarship consists of a certificate, recognition at a luncheon with donors, and a scholarship valued up to $2,500 depending on the review of financial aid, which will be directly applied to tuition for next year. Students may only apply for this scholarship once.

Applicants should complete the online application and include a word document containing:

  • a list of academic and extra-curricular activities in which you have participated
  • your academic and professional goals and aspirations
  • a discussion of your use of humor in any project or activity that demonstrates your creativity

Finalists will be asked to perform for three to five minutes to the selection committee at a later date that demonstrates their ability to use humor. The performance will be recorded and archived.

Applications for 2021 are now closed; the deadline was Friday, March 5. All questions should be directed to Dr. Joyce Wolburg, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Juniors from all majors within the Diederich College of Communication are welcome to apply.
