Joshua J. Frye holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at Humboldt State University. He teaches a wide array of courses in the communication curriculum including public speaking, persuasion theory, creating communication campaigns, communication and social advocacy, argumentation, environmental communication, and rhetorical theory. His research interests focus primarily on strategic political and environmental communication with regard to critiquing public policy, cultural change agency, social movement advocacy, and innovative organizational forms and leadership.
Dr. Frye served as a Sustainable Agriculture Extension Agent with the U.S. Peace Corps from 1997-1999 in Honduras and has traveled, taught, conducted and presented research extensively in the U.S., Latin America, and Asia. Joshua continues to contribute to the advancement of sustainable and equitable practices and the cultivation of healthy democratic systems through volunteerism, consulting, and public education.
