Federal Direct Loan exit counseling

Federal Regulations require students to complete loan exit counseling upon leaving school. The purpose of this counseling is to help you to understand your rights and obligations as a student loan borrower.

The U.S. Department of Education is the lender for all William D. Ford Federal Direct Loans. These loans remain with the federal government for the life of the loan. The Department of Education Direct Loan Servicing Center will oversee your loan account until all your direct loans are paid in full.

Please click or tap the button below to begin your loan exit counseling. Note that, before logging in, you will first be directed to the Federal Student Aid homepage, where you will enter your FSA ID and password. From there you will access the direct loan exit site to complete the exit counseling requirement and view specific information regarding your federal loans
