The Summer Business Academy is in-person and non-residential.

  • Camp Dates/Time: Monday, June 22 – Wednesday June 24, 2026, 8 a.m. (drop off) to 5 p.m. (pick up) on all days
  • Camp Location: O'Brien Hall, Marquette University, 1530 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53233
  • Eligible Participants: Rising 10th-12th graders
  • Cost: $500. Light breakfast, lunch, learning materials and all activity fees included in registration cost. 
  • Eligible Participants: Rising 10th-12th graders though 9th graders will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The camp is intended for participants who are interested in pursuing an education and career in business, but no prior experience or business education is required.
  • Admission Requirements: Up to 50 students will be accepted. Admission is based on the dates when we receive the complete applications.

Dr. Alex Milovic headshot

Dr. Alex Milovic, Associate Professor of Practice in Marketing

Dr. Milovic has worked at Marquette University since 2014. In addition to teaching in the marketing department, he is the founding director and now associate director for the Center for Professional Selling. The Center is nationally recognized as a member of the University Sales Center Alliance and is ranked as one of the top sales programs in the country. Outside of the classroom, he is on the Board of Directors for Global Partners: Running Waters and Life After Hate.

Dr. Milovic earned a BS in Marketing from Towson University, a BS in Management Information Systems from UNC-Charlotte and an MBA in Marketing Strategy from DePaul University. Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, he spent eight years in various sales, marketing and IT roles for Black and Decker, Weaver Partners and Goldman Sachs.

Dennis Oates, Assistant Professor of Practice in Supply Chain Management

Dennis Oates brings more than 30 years of real-world experience in logistics, operations and technology-driven businesses into the classroom. Before joining academia, Dennis held leadership roles at FedEx and Amazon, where he worked on large-scale transportation networks, fulfillment operations and supply chain strategy. His career has also included work with startups, global logistics firms and consulting engagements across retail, transportation and manufacturing.

Dennis teaches courses in supply chain management and operations, focusing on how businesses work in the real world and how data, technology and decisions shape day-to-day operations. He enjoys helping students see how classroom ideas translate into real companies and career opportunities.

He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Supply Chain Management, an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, and is passionate about introducing students to the many career paths available in business and operations.

Experience Milwaukee and gain exposure to local industry leaders via a company visit, where you will learn from a guest speaker and participate in activities on-site that align with business content learned earlier in the day.
