Helping Companies Save
For five years, companies partnering with Marquette's Center for Supply Chain Management have seen more than $21.4 million in suggested savings from collaboration with our students in Applied Procurement Program. Projects that students have worked on under faculty supervision have ranged anywhere from $15 thousand to $3 million spend.
Companies have seen additional savings through the center's Applied Lean Six Sigma course. Industry partners for these projects have included Direct Supply, Harley-Davidson, Kohler Company, Brady Corporation, and Rockwell Automation.
Investment Consulting, Helping Nonprofits Thrive
Our Applied Investment Management students learn hand's on through investing a portion of the university's endowment in real-time, but our Institutional Investment Consulting course provides similar opportunities for all finance students and serves the college's mission to give back to the nonprofit community.
Students are paired with local nonprofits to provide pro bono portfolio analysis. Students learn about the nonprofit, review their Investment Policy Statement, and take the tools learned in class to apply to a real-life portfolio, resulting in a written report with suggestions for our partners. Our students typically engage approximately twenty nonprofits each semester, benefiting both our students and our communities.
Developing Top Talent with Industry
By working together, Marquette Business and its partners are helping provide a business education ripe with experiences that will allow our graduates to make an immediate impact in your company. Since 2009 our Business Career Center, one of only two college specific career center at Marquette, has helped insure that 90% of our graduates have had a high-quality internship before graduation, helping lead to a 90% post-graduation placement rate.
We are also working collaboratively through Executive Education to help provide timely continuing education opportunities for your workforce. For example, the Bridge to Business Program is a six-day non-credit program in partnership with Rexnord that is helping early career engineers learn the valuable business fundamentals that will allow them to be more impactful and successful in their companies.
