Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes are statements of the knowledge, skills and attitudes that we want our graduates to possess. We use them for continuous improvement and they are the criteria on which organizations such as AACSB evaluate our accreditation. They are important to who we are so we make them public. The following is a list of the current Learning Outcomes in our Graduate School of Management programs.

Master of Business Administration (MBA), Online MBA (OMBA) and Executive MBA (EMBA)

1. Perform the fundamental activities of business.
2. Communicate effectively in a business setting.
3. Comprehend global strategic issues.
4. Apply ethical reasoning to business situations.
5. Use analytics to assist in making strategic business decisions.

Master of Science in Accounting (MSA)
1. Apply critical thinking to accounting issues.
2. Communicate via written and oral communication skills.
3. Apply professional knowledge and skills of accounting.

Master of Science in Applied Economics (MSAE)
1. Support decision making in the business and public policy arenas using the standard analytical tools of applied economic analysis.
2. Provide economic analysis to decision makers in both the private and public sectors.
3. Act as skilled translators and liaisons between various business and policy specialists within organizations.
4. Communicate effectively to convey the results and significance of their technical input and professional advice to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Master of Arts in Corporate Communication (CCOM)
1. Establish the business case for communication functions within the corporation and lead and coordinate the comprehensive communication functions of a corporation.
2. Articulate the importance of having a clear corporate vision, mission and identity of a corporation and develop and execute plans for communicating these both internally and externally.
3. Assess internal and external corporate communication needs and develop strategic communication plans.
4. Articulate the roles corporations play within the larger social, cultural, political and economic context of our contemporary global society.

3. Assess your professional leadership style and cultivate a personalized set of leadership capabilities.
